Is it all about capillary permeability?
As I delve into my third book, the realization has occurred to me that chronic inflammation increases permeability through capillary cells outer membranes. This process disturbs both the capillary cell infrastructure as well as the interstitial space between the capillary and end organ cell.
Depending on the level of barrier function the capillary cell provides, this intrusion into the interstitial space of chronic inflammatory mediators disturbs the working relationship between capillary and end organ cell which invariably leads to dysfunction and vulnerability to scar, infection, cancer and autoimmune disease.
In my book Hazing Aging, I introduce this relationship as being paramount to healthy end organs and aging regression. Much of this has to do with lifestyle choices. Take some time to read the first couple of chapters to see how this process enfolded in my own life.
See you on the walking trail.
